How to Make Chocolate Thumbprint Cookies?

To make the chocolate thumbprint cookies, you need to gather the ingredients below:

  • 280 g all-purpose flour

  • 226 g unsalted butter (room temperature)

  • 70 g white sugar

  • 70 g packed brown sugar

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • ½ tsp salt

  • 1 large egg yolk

As for the ganache, you will need these ingredients:

Now, let’s begin the cooking process. But the first thing you need to do is to preheat the oven to 375oC/190oC. Then, you can simply follow these instructions:

  1. First, we will begin the process for the cookie dough. Prepare the mixer bowl and beat the unsalted butter until it becomes smooth.

  2. Add white sugar and brown sugar packed to the mixer bowl, mix until light and fluffy.

  3. Add egg yolk, vanilla extract, and vanilla extract to the mixer bowl, mix until well combined.

  4. Now, gradually add the flour and mix until just combined, then add the salt and mix it again until it is well combined.

  5. Prepare the baking tray with parchment paper, take a spoon of cookie dough and roll it, then place the dough on the baking tray. 

  6. Once the cookies dough is ready, you need to press the center of the cookie with the thumb and it will make a thumbprint. Set the cookie dough aside or you can put it in the freezer while we work with the chocolate ganache.

  7. To make the ganache: Prepare a saucepan, then add Tulip Dark Compound Chocolate Chips, heavy cream, and butter. Heat everything together at medium temperature. Stir the chocolate ganache mixture until the chocolate chips are completely melted and the ganache is well-combined.

  8. Take the chocolate mixture out of the stove. Add the vanilla extract and salt to taste. Mix it well, then set it aside.

  9. Now, let’s bake the cookies dough for 12 minutes in the oven.

  10. Once the chocolate thumbprint cookies are baked, take them out of the oven and let them cool at room temperature for a few minutes.

  11. Pour the chocolate ganache into the crater and store them in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes to solidify the chocolate ganache.

  12. In the final steps, you can store it in a jar or any good package to attract customers.
